Position Summary:
The Clinical Resource Nurse is a professional nurse who serves in a collaborative role with the department nursing staff to provide continuing education and support quality improvement and practice initiatives. The Clinical Resource Nurse works with department leadership staff to assure compliance with regulatory standards including Joint Commission (JC), NCQA Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH), CMS Meaningful Use (MU), OSHA/EOC, Safety/Infection Control, CLIA, Quality Care Audits, and DPH licensure requirement. The Clinical Resource Nurse is accountable for maintaining currency with own nursing practice and demonstrates commitment to own professional development and continuing education. The Clinical Resource Nurse will have continued clinical exposure to departmental workflows and work collaborate within clinical departments. Clinical practice within the department constitutes an average of 30% of the position.
What You'll Do
The successful candidate will be able to perform the following responsibilities:
Collaborate with nursing and operational leadership to support clinical practice, workflow optimization, and team development across the department.
Coordinate and deliver orientation, onboarding, and ongoing competency-based education for nursing staff and medical assistants.
Serve as a clinical resource and mentor, providing real-time support, guidance, and feedback to staff in daily operations.
Conduct chart reviews, competency assessments, and performance feedback to support staff development and ensure high-quality patient care.
Lead and support quality improvement initiatives, including audits, incident review, and implementation of corrective action plans.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g., Joint Commission, OSHA, DPH, NCQA, CLIA) through education, monitoring, and process improvement.
