As a Flood Engineering Intern, you will contribute to projects within the Catastrophe Engineering and Analytics (CAT E&A) team . CAT E&A is an innovative, multidisciplinary group that evaluates catastrophe risk globally, develops independent models and analytical solutions, and produces quantitative loss insights to support underwriting decisions. Y ou will work on flood - related projects that align with your interests and skills in hydrology and hydraulic modeling, computer programming, geospatial computing, statistics, data analytics , and data science. You will gain hands-on experience in flood catastrophe modeling, learn about the insurance industry, and see how collaboration advances cutting - edge natural catastrophe models.

Opportunity:
We are seeking a motivated and curious individual to join our San Ramon, CA office with the Catastrophe Engineering and Analytics team as a Summer Intern. This 12-week paid internship offers a deep dive into the world of natural catastrophe model development and risk evaluation.
Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in a graduate program in water resources, environmental, civil, or a related engineering field
Demonstrated expertise in surface-water processes and their use in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
Proficiency in Python, R, or a comparable analytical programming language or environment
Knowledge of probability, statistics, uncertainty analysis, or other quantitative methods relevant to environmental or risk analysis
Proficiency in GIS and spatial analysis, including work with large-scale raster or vector datasets
Exposure to or experience with AI-assisted development tools is a plus
Ability to work effectively both collaboratively and independently
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Pay Transparency:
The base salary rate for this position in San Ramon is $33/hour. We value our teammates – both their capabilities and character – as demonstrated by our amazing culture.
