About the internship
As a Software Engineering Intern at Barco Labs, you will contribute to the development of software solutions used in digital pathology and medical imaging. You will work on real engineering challenges ranging from image data processing and software libraries to automation frameworks, cloud applications, and platform development.
Depending on your interests and skills, you will be matched to a project where you can make a direct impact while working alongside experienced engineers.
What you'll do
Software development in Python, C/C++, JavaScript or TypeScript
Modern web applications and UI/UX concepts
Test automation and CI/CD pipelines
Cloud and cybersecurity solutions
Medical imaging and digital pathology applications
AI and image processing workflows
Tooling, algorithms, and data processing solutions
A typical project could involve developing software features, building proof-of-concepts, improving development workflows, or extending image processing libraries used in digital pathology systems.
Who you are
Bachelor or Master student in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics-ICT or similar
Experience with Python, C++, JavaScript, TypeScript or similar technologies
Experience with Linux/ Docker
Experience with Git (GitHub) and collaborative software development
Experience with LLM in development
Familiarity with software development best practices
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Fluent spoken and written communication in English
