We are recruiting an IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure & Security team.
This is a hands-on generalist role covering endpoint management, Microsoft 365, identity, networking and infrastructure support. You will administer a range of core infrastructure platforms and act as the first IT infrastructure escalation point for the Service Desk.
Key responsibilities
Administering Microsoft 365, Intune and Entra ID, including Microsoft Teams and telephony
Managing patching and software deployment
Supporting Azure Virtual Desktop
Supporting network switching, wireless and firewall infrastructure
Diagnosing and resolving connectivity, performance and VPN issues
Carrying out routine network and firewall changes
Working closely with the Service Desk on escalated incidents, providing technical support and knowledge transfer
Triaging infrastructure alerts and incidents
Supporting Windows Server and Active Directory
Maintaining technical documentation and operational runbooks
Shift pattern Please note this role will operate on normal office hours (Mon-Fri 9am-5:30pm), and on call (evenings and weekends) 1 week in every 4.
Essential Experience
Proven experience in an infrastructure engineering or advanced 2nd/3rd line role
Strong Microsoft 365, Intune and Entra ID administration experience
Strong networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs and VPNs, with the ability to troubleshoot complex connectivity issues
Experience with enterprise switching and firewall platforms
Experience supporting Windows desktop and server environments across on-premises and cloud-hosted infrastructure
Practical PowerShell scripting experience
A structured troubleshooting approach and the ability to see issues through to resolution
A security-conscious approach to infrastructure administration
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desirable experience
Cisco CCNA and/or Fortinet NSE4/FCP certification
VMware vSphere
Experience with enterprise security tooling and security best practices
