Under this role the Journeyperson Electrician or PSE reads and interprets drawings, blueprints and electrical code specifications. The Journeyperson Electrician or PSE is also responsible for planning layout and illustration of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures based on specifications. The Journeyperson Electrician or PSE inspects electrical systems, components and equipment to identify defects and to ensure compliance with codes. This is a senior role which requires performance evaluation, coaching mentoring and training of Electrician Apprentices or PSE. Responsibilities Installation, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of different electrical systems, faulty equipment and apparatus including transformers, circuit breakers, switches, switchgears, instrument transformers, relays and other related equipment (500kV, 240kV, 144kV, 69kV, 25kV, 13.8kV). Installation of structural steel, installation of buried utilities. Operation of construction equipment such as skid steer, mini hoe, manlifts, and zoombooms. Comply with Rising Edge Technologies Ltd.’s Health and Safety Manual and industry safety regulations. Provide leadership, supervision, mentoring and training to PSE/Electrical Apprentices in understanding, identifying and resolving technical issues. Assist PSE/Electrician Apprentices with the day to day activities involved with substation construction including working in a safe and quality manner. Responsible for Inspection and testing of high voltage electrical equipment installed in a substation.
