We are looking for a Lab Technician located in Sugar Land, TX . This is a 10-month temporary contract with potential to go longer based on business need and performance. This is your opportunity to join a global technology company, driving energy innovation for a balanced planet.

What You Will Do:
Perform routine and advanced wet chemistry laboratory testing and analysis
Prepare, process, and analyze crude and related sample in accordance with established procedures
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation
Accurately document test results, observations, and analytical data
Prepare technical reports and communicate findings to internal stakeholders
Maintain laboratory equipment, supplies, and work areas in compliance with safety and quality standards
Follow laboratory safety protocols and standard operating procedures
Collaborate with team members to support research, testing, and quality assurance initiatives
Utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook for data management, reporting, presentations and communication
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED with a minimum five years of experience working in a lab environment, OR, an Associate’s Degree in a related field of study (e.g. lab technician programs, college coursework in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics) with a minimum of two years of experience OR a Bachelor's Degree
Work experience in a lab environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
General chemistry laboratory experience
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as a part of a team

Physical Demands:
Role is deemed safety-sensitive and may be subject to employer or customer drug testing.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience handling and testing oil samples
Previous Production Chemistry / Oil and Gas Laboratory Setting experience
Hands on experience with Gas Chromatography (GC)
Experience with CHNS Elemental Analysis
Experience using Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC)
