PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The purpose of this job is to assist the Workers Compensation legal department by providing technical support to attorneys, conducting legal research and drafting legal documents. This role will work under the supervision of assigned attorneys to assist in court and trial related research.

The purpose of this job is to assist the Workers Compensation legal department by providing technical support to attorneys, conducting legal research and drafting legal documents. This role will work under the supervision of assigned attorneys to assist in court and trial related research.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs analysis and research functions for Workers’ Compensation cases.
Drafts legal memos and briefs.
Prepares motions and petitions as well as opposition/response to same.
Analyzes and researches legal and factual issues.
Secures documentation from employers and third parties to support litigation analysis.
Develops templates involving legal motions and petitions.
Assists in deposition and trial preparation and supports legal team throughout the entire litigation process.
Researches and analyzes law sources to prepare draft memoranda, briefs or arguments for review, approval and use by attorneys.
Communicate with clients, court staff, and law firms by telephone and written correspondence.
May attend depositions, mediations, court hearings, and trials.
Tracks and records time through litigation management system.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This role does not have supervisory responsibilities.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree required. Currently attending an accredited law school with 2 semesters/3 quarters completed with passing grades. Legal or insurance experience preferred.
