About the Role:
The Lead Cafeteria Aide plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the cafeteria within an educational or institutional setting. This position is responsible for overseeing daily food service activities, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety, and providing excellent customer service to students, staff, and visitors. The Lead Cafeteria Aide coordinates with kitchen staff to manage food preparation and distribution, ensuring compliance with health regulations and dietary guidelines. Additionally, this role involves training and guiding other cafeteria aides, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in food service or cafeteria operations.
Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
Ability to supervise and coordinate a small team effectively.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in food handling or safety (e.g., ServSafe).
Experience working in a school or institutional cafeteria setting.
Familiarity with inventory management and ordering systems.
Leadership or supervisory training.
Ability to accommodate and understand special dietary requirements.
Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate the activities of cafeteria aides to ensure efficient food service operations.
Assist in the preparation and serving of meals while adhering to established nutritional and safety standards.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the cafeteria, including dining areas, kitchen equipment, and utensils.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies to prevent shortages and minimize waste.
Provide friendly and professional customer service, addressing questions and concerns promptly and courteously.
Train new cafeteria aides on proper food handling, safety protocols, and customer service procedures.
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations and report any issues to management.
Collaborate with school or facility administration to accommodate special dietary needs and menu changes.
