Overview Abile Group has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Linux Systems Engineer on a 10 year contract providing User Facing and Data Center Services supporting an Intelligence Community customer. All the personnel on the team will work together to support innovative design, engineering, procurement, implementation, operations, sustainment and disposal of user facing and data center information technology (IT) services on multiple networks and security domains, at multiple locations worldwide, to support the IC mission. The right candidate will possess the below skills and qualifications and be ready to handle all responsibilities independently and professionally. Responsibilities Designs, implements, and maintains enterprise Linux-based infrastructure in both on-premises and virtualized environments. Administers, maintains, and optimizes Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) , including AHV , Prism Central , and Prism Element , to support enterprise Linux workloads. Collaborates with infrastructure teams to provision, configure, and manage virtual machines, storage, networking, and cluster resources within Nutanix environments. Develops and maintains automation solutions using Ansible and scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python). Standardizes system configuration, patching, and deployment processes through Infrastructure-as-Code practices. Administers and supports Red Hat ecosystem tools, including Satellite and Capsule. Integrates and manages authentication and authorization mechanisms (e.g., OAuth, SSO, identity providers). Supports the development of dashboards and observability solutions using tools such as Grafana and Zabbix. Monitors, troubleshoots, and optimizes Linux systems and Nutanix infrastructure for performance, availability, and capacity. Troubleshoots complex system, virtualization, storage, networking, and integration issues across distributed environments. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to improve system reliability, scalability, security, and operational efficiency. Documents system architecture, processes, automation workflows, and infrastructure standards. Contributes to continuous improvement initiatives, including automation maturity, platform modernization, and operational best practices. Qualifications Clearance Required: TS/SCI with eligibility to obtain CI poly. Degree and Years of Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience. 5+ years of experience administering and engineering Linux systems in enterprise environments, including experience supporting enterprise virtualization platforms such as Nutanix.
