Prodomax Automation Ltd. is currently seeking a  MACHINIST to join our team. Located in Barrie, Ontario, Prodomax is a specialized industrial engineering firm focused on designing complex automation with a blue-chip customer base since 1971. Operating from two facilities totaling 200,000 square feet with 200+ employees; we are ISO 9001:2015 certified. The Opportunity The Machinist will be responsible for manufacturing components in a machine shop environment and will report directly to the Manufacturing Supervisor.  Your level within the role will be determined by the skills and experience you bring when taking on this exciting career opportunity.  Responsibilities are noted as you progress within the role. Junior: Job Responsibilities: Read and interpret drawings and determine work and/or repair procedures Set up and operate to prescribe tolerances on lathes, mills, surface grinders, and saws Select mechanical measuring, checking and layout tools and devices Execute measuring, checking and layout operations Perform metal removing operations using hand and power cutting tools Fit and assemble parts and sub-assemblies to build special-purpose machinery Some heavy lifting Job Qualifications: Completion of an Apprenticeship Program for Machinist and holds a General Machinist 429A Certificate of Qualification Minimum 1-3 years direct working experience The ability to Set up, program and operate ACU-RITE NC knee milling machines is an asset. HAAS CNC set up and operation is an asset. Positive attitude. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, disciplined approach to work. Ability to work well as a member of a team. Ability to work well under pressure in a constantly changing environment. Excellent judgment and strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to understand the financial impact of relevant options.
