Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
Maintenance Assistants are responsible for:
Performs variety of minor or routine plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or mechanical repairs and installations.
Performs routine preventive maintenance tasks, and checks and replaces light bulbs. Completes routine grounds and vehicle maintenance.
Receives and stores maintenance and cleaning supplies.
Receives work orders and gathers parts and supplies for expected installation or repair. Inspects requested work to determine if repair or installation can be accomplished independently, or if mechanic or supervisor should be notified.
Checks and replaces incandescent and fluorescent light bulbs in lamps, lighting fixtures, and exit signs.
Completes routine electrical work such as installing outlets and switches, replacing fuses and wiring connections. Uses modular or pin connections to complete installations of telephones, fax machines, computers, and so forth.
Assists mechanic or contractors in complex or large projects by delivering materials to work site, holding and passing tools, cutting materials to specifications, attaching fixtures, and so forth, as directed. Uses small hand and power tools, or table saw as needed.
Job Requirements:
Ability to follow instructions, read work orders, and complete work logs with basic knowledge of reading and mathematics at a level normally acquired through completion of high school or a GED equivalent.
Ability to perform basic repairs, installation and maintenance at a level normally acquired through related training or experience lasting up to one year.
