About the Job: As a Manager, Propulsion you will be responsible for the entire lifecycle, from new engine concept development, through sustainment of the propulsion module. Oversight of the propulsion development labs, leading the engineering team, and working with internal and external customers including production and the supply chain. This job will consist of approximately 70% tasks that directly contribute to project execution, and 30% general overhead tasks (performance reviews, employee engagement activities, employee assignments). Responsibilities include: Team organization, technical leadership, process leadership, and tools/training as it relates to the propulsion engineering discipline, and managing a team of propulsion engineers, project managers, and technicians. Product Line leadership including planning and execution, managing the cost, schedule and technical performance of projects. Working directly with Product Managers and Principal Engineers to develop propulsion strategy and roadmaps Managing the propulsion R&D lab and Engineering Analysis tools. Developing and managing requirements for capital equipment. Management responsibility for the full life-cycle of Insitu Propulsion products Advanced capabilities New product introduction Production and supply chain support / sustainment Fleet and field operations support Interact frequently with internal and external management and senior-level customer representatives concerning projects, operational decisions, and/or technical requirements. Lead briefings and technical meetings for internal and external representatives. Qualifications Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Experience leading an engineering group. Ideally, this includes performance reviews, motivating the team, providing technical guidance, setting goals and establishing daily tasks for a team of Engineers. Expert knowledge of propulsion and internal combustion engines. Knowledge of project management techniques including scheduling, management of budgets and technical performance Knowledge of risk management techniques as it relates to project/product management.
