The Manufacturing Estimator provides basic support and takes ownership of simple estimating assignments within the manufacturing domain. This role requires technical and operational proficiency in solving moderately complex problems, contributing to the completion of projects and programs for Department of Defense (DoD) clients. The Manufacturing Estimator works with moderate supervision and may interface with internal and external customers. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and Prepare Cost Estimates Independently prepare cost estimates for straightforward manufacturing projects or components. Apply established estimating principles, theories, and concepts to assigned tasks. - Data Collection and Analysis Gather, analyze, and interpret data such as material costs, labor hours, and vendor quotes. Utilize historical data and industry benchmarks to inform estimates. - Project Support and Ownership Take ownership of assigned estimating tasks, ensuring timely and accurate completion. Contribute to the completion of project deliverables in area of expertise. - Documentation and Reporting Prepare and maintain detailed estimate documentation and supporting records. Generate reports and summaries for review by senior staff and project managers. - Collaboration and Communication Interface with internal teams (engineering, procurement, project management) to gather information and clarify requirements. May interact with external vendors or customers to obtain necessary data. - Process Improvement Identify opportunities to improve estimating processes and tools. Recommend enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracy. - Compliance and Quality Assurance Ensure all estimating activities comply with company policies, DoD regulations, and contract requirements.
