Pay Rate : $26.00/hour I Hours : 15 hours per week I Schedule : Monday through Friday except for parent-teacher conference days and 6 designated early dismissal days; will work either 3 days/week at 5 hours/day or 5 days/week at 3 hours/day, depending upon the needs of the assigned school. Also includes 5 designated days of professional development. I Supervisor : Director of Educational Services I Location : York City School District I Classification : Part-Time/Contingent/non-exempt
For the 2026-2027 school year, the program runs from August 2026, through the end of May 2027. (Not to exceed 174 days of instruction).
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Math Interventionist works with kindergarten through eighth grade students in small groups to improve their math skills. The goal is to help those struggling below their grade level to increase their math competency to grade level or above.
Candidate must enjoy being a team player and providing excellent care and service to a diverse population. The candidate should have the ability to interact with staff, families and students in a manner that demonstrates respect and dignity, and the ability to solve problems in a professional manner.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Completion of at least 2 years of full-time postsecondary study in education (preferred) or mathematics related field
Either possession of a bachelor’s degree in education (preferred) or mathematics related field OR currently enrolled in a teacher education undergraduate program.
Experience and/or education in fields such as engineering, finance & accounting, science, technology, math, education, or related fields to apply.
Valid Pennsylvania teaching certification (preferred)
Knowledge or experience in best practice mathematics concepts
Candidate must have current (within 1 year) PA Child Abuse Clearance, PA Criminal History Clearance, FBI Fingerprint Clearance, Act 168 Clearance (if applicable), and Mandated Reporter Training Certificate.

Actively supervise children at all times/maintain ratio at all times when possible
Understand and be able to implement school expectations and PBIS programming
Participate in events that promote the partnership between Contractor and the School District of the City of York
Other duties as assigned by Director of Curriculum and Instruction and Contractor
KNOWLEDGE, GROWTH & DEVELOPMENT
Have knowledge of educational components or willingness to learn and implement best practices in mathematics instruction.
Actively participate in data cycles with MTSS Specialist
Actively participate in professional development in best practices in teaching mathematics
CURRICULUM, INSTRUCTION & ASSESSMENT
Collaborate weekly with teachers on unit topics and current, grade level eligible content.
Instruct small group math lessons with students.
