Responsibilities
Job Summary
The Mechanical Maintenance Technician plays a key role in keeping plant operations running safely, reliably, and efficiently. This position maintains and repairs equipment, reduces downtime, and improves performance across mining, milling, and screening operations.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair plant equipment and systems
Perform preventive maintenance to reduce breakdowns and extend equipment life
Respond quickly to equipment failures to minimize production downtime
Use mechanical skills including welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical troubleshooting
Read and interpret manuals, blueprints, and schematics
Identify root causes of failures and help implement long-term solutions
Support and lead maintenance projects when needed
Maintain accurate work orders and maintenance records
Assist with spare parts planning and inventory
Promote a positive, safety-focused work environment
Continuous Improvement
Participate in Lean initiatives such as 5S, Kaizen, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and maintenance efficiency
Share knowledge and support training of team members
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
Experience with industrial equipment (conveyors, pumps, drives, hydraulics, etc.)
Ability to read technical drawings and manuals
