IMEG is hiring a Mechanical Project Engineer in Oklahoma City, OK. In this role, you will lead design efforts as a project manager or lead engineer for low to moderate complexity projects and collaborate with senior staff on larger, more complex work.
You will support project planning, budgeting, scheduling, quality control, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration while helping deliver mechanical systems for the vertical building industry. The team supports general MEP, building systems, and institutional work, advancing high-performance, energy-efficient design aligned with MEP2050 and AIA2030.

What You'll Do
Lead analysis and design of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for low to moderate complexity projects.
Develop detailed designs, specifications, and calculations using engineering software and tools in accordance with code requirements and IMEG standards.
Collaborate with senior staff on larger and more complex projects to develop practical, efficient solutions.
Work with clients to gather requirements, communicate technical information, and maintain professional relationships.
Support consulting-project execution through planning, budgeting, scheduling, design-progress monitoring, and documentation of client decisions and instructions.
Conduct in-process reviews of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection designs, calculations, and specifications.
Apply quality-control processes to help ensure designs meet IMEG, industry, and client requirements.
Stay current on mechanical-engineering trends, technologies, and best practices, contributing to research, development, and innovation efforts.
Identify and mitigate mechanical-system safety risks.
Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to deliver integrated solutions and seek Project Manager guidance on potential project problems.
Oversee projects through bidding and construction administration.
What You'll Bring
Required Education
Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent required
Professional Engineer (PE) License required
Experience
2 years of experience minimum required, 4 preferred, in the building design consulting industry (years of experience may vary based on state license qualifications)
Required Skills/Abilities
Proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts used to produce technical plans and specifications
Strong technical and analytical skills, including application of thermodynamics, psychrometrics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection system design
