General Summary
$25.69- $29.96 Do you want to serve your community and help ensure the safety of visitors across Oakland County Parks? Under limited supervision, you’ll perform a variety of law enforcement duties within the Parks system, responding to incidents, maintaining public order, and enforcing park rules and regulations. In this unique role, you’ll also conduct mounted patrols throughout park grounds and trails, providing visibility, accessibility, and community engagement in areas not reachable by vehicle. What You’ll Do • Investigate accidents, complaints, and other incidents, and prepare detailed reports. • Respond to disturbances and emergencies to maintain peace and public safety. • Apprehend, restrain, and assist in the arrest of individuals when necessary. • Represents the Sheriff’s Office at parades and special events. • Utilize Countywide and department-specific software to complete assignments and maintain accurate records. • Work primarily on weekends and holidays when public activity is highest. Minimum Qualifications
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Be a high school graduate or have a certificate of successful completion of the General Education Development (G.E.D.) Test.
Have not been convicted of a violation of criminal law including domestic violence. (Criminal law generally includes all offenses except traffic law, conservation law and liquor law. Generally, conviction for a violation of criminal law is automatically disqualifying).
