POSITION DESCRIPTION – MPA AVIONICS TECHNICIAN Job Title: MPA Avionics Technician Reports to: Director of Maintenance/Shop Lead Classification: Exempt Time Commitment: Full-time Rotational Assignment Position Summary MPA Avionics Technicians inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain assigned aircraft communications, navigation, surveillance, mission, flight control, and electrical systems within their qualifications and authorized scope of work. They use approved technical data, follow company procedures, and complete required maintenance records and aircraft logbook entries. This is an OCONUS rotational assignment in the Pacific area of responsibility. The position reports administratively to AIRTEC at 44144 Airport Road, Hangar AA, California, MD 20619. The assigned operating location will be specified before deployment. The operating environment may involve austere conditions. The anticipated rotation is 90 days on assignment followed by 90 days off, subject to mission needs. Travel days, training, and work at 2W6 will be addressed in the assignment terms. The daily rate includes the overseas differential. Essential Functions Support daily flight operations, pre- and post-flight inspections. Fabricate and install radio and sensor equipment in accordance with approved engineering drawings and technical data. Obtain the required engineering authorization before making any change to an approved installation. Install, troubleshoot, and repair avionics systems, including wiring, sensors, and electronic components. Perform inspections, testing, and software updates on avionics equipment. Interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and wiring diagrams to diagnose and resolve issues. Conduct functional and operational checks of avionics systems before and after maintenance. Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, company policies, and industry standards. Document avionics maintenance in CAMP and aircraft records using approved forms and procedures, as applicable. Assist Aircraft Maintenance Technicians during scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks. Collaborate with maintenance teams to support aircraft readiness and operational efficiency. Assist with aircraft and engine maintenance when qualified and authorized for the assigned work. Diagnose and troubleshoot avionics and electrical issues that may arise during aircraft operation and ensure the equipment meets mandated requirements and specifications. Complete all checklists, forms, and reports, as required by Company, government, and/or contractual regulations or guidelines. Comply with all applicable safety rules and regulations. Develop and maintain customer relationships by providing information relating to the status of current work orders or projects. Interface with domestic and foreign government representatives regarding the use of local logistical infrastructure. Must be available to work scheduled hours at the scheduled locations. Other duties…
