Based in Southern California near the Los Angeles International Airport, The Marvin Group consists of Marvin Engineering (MEC), Marvin Test Solutions (MTS) and Marvin Land Systems (MLS).  Marvin Engineering designs and produces military Alternate Mission Equipment.  Marvin Test Solutions designs and manufactures armament Test Equipment. Marvin Land Systems specializes in the design and build of power and thermal management systems. Our collaboration extends across a diverse array of programs and platforms, including major military prime contractors such as Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon. POSITION SUMMARY:    This is a hands-on position responsible for installing, configuring, monitoring, and maintaining network infrastructure with a strong emphasis on LAN switching technologies . The role will involve working closely with senior network administrators to ensure optimal performance, security, and scalability of the company’s network environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   Install and Configure Network Switches (Aruba, HP, Cisco) Monitor and Maintain Network Switch Performance Assist with Switch Configuration and Upgrades Manage IDF Installations and Cable Organization Troubleshoot technical issues with escalated tickets Configure and Maintain Network Protocols (VLAN, STP, LACP) Firewall Support and Basic Routing Configuration Document Network Configurations and Topology Collaborate on Network Security Compliance SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS: 3+ years of hands-on experience in network administration or a similar role. Strong expertise in LAN/WAN infrastructure, including switch installation, configuration, and troubleshooting. Proficiency with Aruba, HP, and Cisco switches, including CLI-based configuration (VLAN, STP, LACP, trunk/access ports, port security, etc.). Ability to perform switch provisioning, firmware upgrades, and advanced configuration tasks via command line interfaces (SSH/console). Experience working with fiber cabling, including terminating, connecting, and troubleshooting fiber links between switches and patch panels (LC/SC connectors, SFP/SFP+ modules). Experience with network firewalls and basic routing concepts. Familiarity with network monitoring tools and performance optimization techniques.
