The primary responsibility of the Associate in the Practice Area of Oil and Gas is to be providing legal advisory services to clients in the upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors. Requirements ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Deliver the financial targets and objectives for the practice area. Billings & Collections Management Support the practice groups’ marketing and business development initiatives. Prepare legal opinions and research memoranda on oil and gas issues. Support in the provision strategic legal advice and preparation of risk assessments. Develop and maintain strong client relationships to support business development. Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including Joint Operating Agreements, Farm-Out Agreements, Production Sharing Contracts, and service agreements. Conduct legal due diligence and advise on mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures in the oil and gas sector. Education and Experience The Associate must have minimum of 2 years of post-call experience, with experience preferably in a top-tier law firm or oil & gas company. LLB from a recognised university or accredited law school (2:1, Second class upper and above) Licensing: Called to the bar obtaining a grade of Second Class Upper and above
