We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious student to join our R&D team for summer 2027! As the R&D Plant-based Protein Intern , you will support progression of a research project related to plant-based protein ingredient characterization. You will have the opportunity to evaluate functional characteristics of new protein ingredients and relate functionality to food and beverage application utility. This work will also give you the opportunity to include verifying nutritional characteristics including in vitro digestibility as a proxy for protein quality determination!
What you will do:
Responsible for personal safety as well as the safety of plant personnel and contractors.
· Support safety, environmental, and quality initiatives, including performing and assisting in investigations & corrective actions ·
Ensure workforce compliance with all plant quality procedures and guidelines
· Support plant productivity and production scheduling requirements
· Remove obstacles to help productivity of hourly workforce ·
Support maintenance requirements and cost control initiatives

· Identify and execute on improvement projects that impact the hourly workforce position
· Offer new ideas and think outside-the-box

· Professionally lead and manage production requirements with the hourly workforce

What you will bring:
Progress towards a Bachelor’s degree in chemical, mechanical, or other related engineering field
Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment
Interpersonal, verbal and written technical communication skills, e.g. making presentations and writing technical data/reports
Reliable transportation required to get to and from facility each work day
