Job Location: Blair, NE Job Type: Full Time Shift(s) Available: Rotating 12 hours Day Shift Compensation: $22/hr - $27/hr base on experience
Job Overview As a Packaging Technician at Cargill, you'll play an important role in ensuring products are packaged safely, efficiently, and according to quality standards. In this hands-on role, you'll operate packaging equipment, monitor production processes, perform basic maintenance, and help prepare finished products for shipment. You'll be part of a team focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
What You Will Do
Operate and monitor packaging equipment, making basic adjustments to maintain product quality and production efficiency.
Set up machines, feed materials into equipment, and prepare finished products for storage or shipment.
Perform basic maintenance and troubleshoot routine equipment issues using hand and power tools.
Track production, quality, and inventory information using computerized systems and production records.
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to move materials and finished goods.
Follow all safety, food safety, quality, and lockout/tagout procedures while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays, or variable shifts with advance notice.
Perform other duties as assigned
What You Will Need
Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
Must be 18 years or older.
Ability to understand and communicate in English, verbal and written.
Able to work indoors and outdoors, including at heights of 4 feet or more, and capable of performing physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing, bending, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodation and while using appropriate PPE.
Able to work rotating shifts
Basic computer skills
What Will Put You Ahead
Basic experience troubleshooting mechanical components or systems.
Experience working in a production or manufacturing environment.
Prior experience operating a forklift.
Experience with SAP or a computerized maintenance management system
Willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays, or variable shifts with advance notice.
