In this role, you’ll assist legal professionals with research, case preparation, information tracking, and administrative functions while building practical knowledge of legal procedures and public-sector operations. What You’ll Do - Assist with legal procedures, research, and case preparation. - Research primary and secondary legal sources. - Compile, analyze, and report relevant legal information. - Review and track case file information for accuracy and completeness. - Contact probation officers, Department of Human Services workers, and other outside agency representatives to obtain case-status information. - Assist attorneys in court, depending on the area of assignment. - Perform related filing, documentation, and clerical duties. - Complete routine and ad hoc computer operations. - Maintain accurate, organized, and confidential case information. - Use Countywide and department-specific software to complete assignments. Minimum Qualifications EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1. a. Possession of a certificate or degree sanctioned by the American Bar Association as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant; 2. Pass the complete examination, including the employment medical established for the classification. 3. Successfully complete the six month probationary period.
