The Production Supervisor leads the day-to-day activities of the production team, ensuring custom engineering orders move safely, efficiently, and on schedule from production order release through final shipment. This role maintains a strong floor presence, directs daily priorities, resolves bottlenecks, enforces safety and quality standards, and coordinates final inspection, packaging, and shipping. The Supervisor also develops and maintains the production schedule using MRP recommendations, capacity, customer demand, and material availability. The primary focus is leading the team and executing the schedule to achieve on-time delivery.   Key Responsibilities Floor Leadership & Team Supervision Lead and supervise the production team, providing daily direction, resolving floor issues, balancing workloads, managing attendance, and coordinating cross-training. Maintain a visible floor presence to monitor progress, address bottlenecks, and enforce safety and quality standards throughout production. Coordinate final inspection and engineering approval before orders move to packaging and shipment. Work closely with the Shipping team to establish priorities for production-related material picking, packaging, staging, and shipment. Schedule Execution & Production Planning Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer demand, MRP recommendations, capacity, and material availability. Translate the production schedule into clear daily priorities and required completion dates for material staging, assembly, inspection, packaging, and shipment. Prioritize and resequence work in response to customer changes, engineering changes, material shortages, equipment issues, or schedule delays. Monitor schedule performance and implement recovery plans for orders at risk of missing required dates. Shop Operations Coordinate preventive maintenance activities to minimize equipment downtime and support reliable production. Maintain appropriate inventory levels of shop consumables, production supplies, and operating materials. Cross-Functional Coordination Coordinate with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Shipping to resolve material, quality, technical, and scheduling issues that could delay production. Communicate schedule changes, constraints, material shortages, and delivery risks promptly to management and affected teams. Success Metrics On-time delivery rate Schedule adherence % Order cycle time (release to ship) Safety incidents Quality/rework rate   Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Manufacturing, Business, or related field preferred. Equivalent manufacturing planning and scheduling experience may be considered. 3-7 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, manufacturing operations, or supply chain management.
