Payroll & Bookkeeping Administrator
Location: Approximately 20 km North of Edmonton, AB
Lotus Group has partnered with a successful, established trucking company to recruit a Payroll & Bookkeeping Administrator .
This is a key position within a small, close-knit organization, responsible for payroll, bookkeeping, accounting administration and supporting the day-to-day needs of the office. The successful candidate will work closely with the current incumbent during a transition period, with the opportunity to take on greater responsibility and become an important part of the company's long-term succession plans.

The Role
Payroll is an important focus of this position, along with day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting administration. All payroll and accounting is currently completed in QuickBooks, so strong hands-on QuickBooks proficiency is required.
Key Responsibilities :
Process and administer biweekly payroll
Manage accounts receivable and day-to-day bookkeeping
Complete GST remittances and maintain accurate financial records
Complete monthly bank and account reconciliations as the role develops
Support year-end requirements and work with the company's external accounting resources
Coordinate monthly safety meetings, including scheduling, documentation, minutes and record keeping
Provide administrative support for safety audits, WCB/contractor documentation and other compliance requirements
Assist with employee documentation and performance review administration
Support general office organization and recurring administrative requirements
Assist with company and client events as required
What You Bring
Approximately 3–5 years of relevant bookkeeping and payroll experience
Strong proficiency with QuickBooks for payroll and accounting
Solid understanding of bookkeeping and basic accounting principles
Experience with payroll remittances, GST, reconciliations and financial record keeping
Strong organizational skills, accuracy and follow-through
Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities
High degree of discretion, dependability and professionalism
A positive, approachable style and the ability to build relationships with employees, drivers and operations
Experience in trucking, transportation, construction or another operational environment would be an asset, but is not required. More important is an interest in learning the business and becoming a trusted member of the team.
