Job Summary The Peace & Civil Educator will support the YMCA Youth Peace Service Project by engaging in school and disadvantage youth communities for peacebuilding, civil education, conflict prevention, and social cohesion activities. The Peace & Civil Educator (PCE) will facilitate youth-focused learning sessions, promote positive citizenship and peaceful participation, and support community activities that encourage dialogue, tolerance, respect, and non-violent conflict resolution. Key Responsibilities • Facilitate peacebuilding, civil education, and conflict prevention sessions for students, disadvantage youth and community members. • Support youth activities that promote tolerance, dialogue, respect, and peaceful coexistence. • Organize and facilitate workshops, discussions, awareness sessions, and community dialogues. • Educate young people on civil responsibilities, participation, rights, and community engagement. • Promote non-violent approaches to managing disagreements and resolving conflicts. • Support youth-led peace initiatives and community service activities. • Engage students, youth groups, community leaders, volunteers, and other stakeholders in peace and civil education activities. • Identify and report emerging community concerns, conflicts, or issues affecting youth participation and social cohesion. • Document activities, participant feedback, lessons learned, and success stories. • Support monitoring and reporting of peace and civil education activities. • Encourage young people to become positive agents of peace and responsible citizens in their communities.
