Program Coordinator (Community Centers)
Summary: The Program Coordinator coordinates day-to-day program activities, schedules, instructors, coaches, volunteers, contractors, and community partners to ensure programs are well organized, accessible, safe, engaging, and responsive to community needs. The Program Coordinator supports the development and expansion of programs designed to promote youth development, physical activity, leadership, recreation, skill development, and positive community engagement.
The position works collaboratively with schools, community organizations, coaches, instructors, sports organizations, and other partners to increase participation and maximize the use of community center space.
Evening and weekend work will be required based on program schedules, tournaments, camps, clinics, athletic events, and community activities.
Essential Duties :
Program Coordination: Coordinates programs and activities, including:
Youth sports and recreation programs.
Workshops, clinics, activities, events, and special programming.
Recruitment and engagement of youth participants and families.
Coordinates use of FSA facilities, fields, courts, classrooms, recreation spaces, and other program areas.
Maintains program and facility schedules to minimize conflicts and maximize utilization.
Coordinates setup, breakdown, equipment, supplies, and facility needs for programs and events.
Development and maintenance of relationships with schools, youth-serving organizations, community partners, and other stakeholders.
Works with facility and operations staff to ensure program areas are safe, clean, prepared, and appropriately equipped.
Assists with coordinating facility use by outside organizations and program partners as assigned.
Promotes camps, clinics, classes, sports programs, tournaments, fitness programs, and youth activities.
Works with FSA communications/marketing staff to promote programs and events.
Identifies opportunities to increase program visibility, participation, and community awareness.
Promotes a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for all participants.
Report to : Community Services Manager
Education and Experience
One or more years of experience coordinating youth programs, recreation programs, sports programs, community programs, or a related area.
Experience working with youth, families, community organizations, coaches, instructors, or volunteers preferred.
Experience coordinating athletic programs, camps, clinics, tournaments, or recreational activities preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of recreation, sports, fitness, and community programming.
Strong organizational and scheduling skills.
Ability to work effectively with youth, families, staff, coaches, instructors, volunteers, community partners, and the public.
