Background
The AFAWA project, funded by the African Development Bank (AfDB), seeks to empower women-led businesses (WEBs) and women employees in ETGs agribusiness supply chains. The programme includes training, employability improvement, financial inclusion, and market linkages
Qualification
Master's degree in Gender Studies, International Development, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required.
At least 7 years of progressive experience in coordinating gender, entrepreneurship, or women's empowerment programmes in sub-Saharan Africa.
Demonstrated leadership in managing multi-country donor-funded projects (AfDB experience preferred).
Strong understanding of financial inclusion, market systems, and private sector development for women.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and engage with a wide range of partners.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and report writing skills.
Fluency in English required; working knowledge of Portuguese or Swahili is an asset.
Willingness to travel regularly to implementation sites across the four countries.
