The system supports legislative and federal requirements for traffic violation processing. It is a client-server system utilizing COBOL as the back end and .NET as the human interface. The position is within the COBOL development team as the Senior Programmer / Team Lead and reports to the COBOL Development Manager. The role will directly support the core business system, Phoenix. This position will require CJIS information security certification, which will be sponsored. The candidate must be able to work independently and have excellent communication skills. Duties/Responsibilities: Analyze the Phoenix core business system and assigned tickets for development and/or system modifications. Lead the analysis and development of proposed solutions for assigned tickets and projects. Partner with business units to develop business specifications, translate them into technical specifications, and obtain business sign-off. Code, test, promote, and collaborate with impacted users to ensure solutions meet documented requirements. Provide production support for the Phoenix system. Provide daily and weekly status updates to the Development Manager and Business Analyst(s) Requirements Required Skills: 6+ years of experience with Visual COBOL and/or Micro Focus COBOL.
