ROLE PURPOSE: The Quality Lab Tech I is responsible for certain physical, chemical, and identification testing and reporting performed on pharmaceutical, food, industrial, and oilfield product samples received in the QC Lab.  Timely and precise results reporting, and strong communication skills are required to be successful in this position.   SAFETY ACCOUNTABILITIES – EHSQS CRITICAL ROLE LEVEL 3 Each team member is expected to support the Tate & Lyle culture where Environment, Health, Food Safety and Quality, complies with all EHSQ policies, procedures, and regulations relevant to their work.  Team members are expected to speak up and intervene to prevent unsafe conditions and to respect fellow workers and the communities in which we work. Included in this is abidance with our Life Saving Principles (LSP’s) and our STOP WORK AUTHORITY which are developed to strengthen our workplace safety, prevent serious injury loss of life.  Responsible for quality and food safety within their realm of control.  Level 3 – Important Role EHSQ focus is 100% task oriented Responsible for area specific EHSQ procedures/policy adherence EHSQMS Element Support Responsible for reporting all incidents, defects, and hazards Involved in EHSQ specific checks and inspections for policy adherence   MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: To identify and implement process improvements which result in higher throughput, improved efficiencies, recognizable cost savings and more consistent product quality. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the fundamental functions and responsibilities of the job as defined below: Create a culture of Safety and Teamwork Continuous improvement Facilitate problem solving and develop action plans to address performance issues and achieve key performance indicator goals Perform all duties utilizing safe lab practices regarding use of PPE, solution make-up, storage and disposal of chemicals and spill cleanup Perform routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory testing equipment along with all necessary calibration records Complete all assigned testing for the day as distributed by the supervisor and team and maintain accurate records in logbooks and electronic record management system On a rotating basis perform raw material testing in a timely manner for release of material to production Complete special testing requests as assigned by the area…
