Requisition ID: 78427  Description We are looking for a motivated QA / Software Development Co-op student to join our software development team based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. This position provides an opportunity to contribute primarily to quality assurance and testing activities for a modern engineering software platform consisting of a web application and API platform. Responsibilities include test case development and execution, automated testing, database testing, validation of new features, and supporting software quality initiatives. Previous software development experience is considered an asset and may provide opportunities to contribute to development-related tasks. The successful candidate will work closely with software developers and other members of the engineering team to help develop, test, troubleshoot, and improve the reliability and quality of our software. This is a hands-on position where you will gain experience working with real-world software development practices, including source control, code reviews, automated testing, APIs, databases, and containerized applications. Responsibilities Create and execute test plans, test cases, automated tests and regression tests. Test web application functionality, including user interfaces, workflows, validation, and error handling. Test REST APIs for functionality, reliability, data validation, and error handling. Develop automated tests where appropriate to improve regression testing and software quality. Perform database testing using Microsoft SQL Server, including validating data and database operations. Identify, reproduce, document, and track software defects. Troubleshoot issues by analyzing application behavior, API responses, database data, and application logs. Participate in code reviews and provide feedback related to software quality and maintainability. Work with developers to investigate and resolve defects.
