Job Description: Radiology Medical Imaging Tech I Performs a variety of medical imaging exams for patients of all ages. Applies principles, theories and techniques of pertinent modality to provide reliable test results. Effective communication skills and the ability to work effectively with people from various backgrounds are critical. POSITION SUMMARY Performs a variety of medical imaging exams for patients of all ages.  Applies principles, theories and techniques of pertinent modality to provide reliable test results.  Provides daily leadership of patient and department workflow. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Operates imaging equipment for appropriate modality Utilizes sound judgment in appropriate patient care, safety and infection control practices Documents any pertinent information as appropriate Consults Radiologist as needed Reviews protocol forms to assure correct exam is performed Interviews and screens patients, per protocol Must be able to take call nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis including special procedures; must be within 20 minute travel time to the hospital Assists in transporting patients Monitors and manages IV’s Works closely with student coordinator, providing guidance to student externs as needed Restocks and moves supplies SKILLS AND ABILITIES Demonstrates the ability to use a personal computer and various software programs applicable to the position Demonstrates the ability to operate applicable office equipment Exhibits the ability to deal effectively interdepartmentally & with the public Exhibits the ability to maintain confidentiality, think and act independently with minimal supervision Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/DEGREES Graduate of Accredited Radiology Technology program Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist’s certification (in relevant *modality) Current Oregon license or recent graduate…
