About the role
As a Medical Coordinator, you will play a critical role in supporting travellers when they need it most. Acting as the clinical subject matter expert, you will provide trusted medical advice and guidance to both our Assistance and Claims teams, helping to assess medical situations, determine claim liability, and ensure customers receive timely and appropriate care wherever they are in the world.
Working closely with internal stakeholders across Assistance, Claims and Complaints, you will proactively manage complex cases, balancing customer outcomes with sound clinical judgement and risk management principles. This is a highly collaborative role where your expertise will help drive quality decision-making, protect the wellbeing of travellers, and ensure services are delivered in line with Redion's operational, clinical and risk management frameworks.
What the role looks like
· Provide expert clinical guidance to support travellers, Assistance teams and Claims teams, ensuring timely, appropriate and customer-focused decision making.
· Manage complex medical cases from initial assessment through to resolution, balancing clinical, financial and logistical considerations.
· Liaise with treating medical providers, hospitals and global partners to obtain clinical information and coordinate optimal care outcomes.
· Assess medical treatment plans, fitness to fly requirements, repatriations and evacuations, ensuring travellers receive the right care at the right time.
· Apply your clinical expertise and policy knowledge to support claim liability recommendations and benefit assessments.
· Identify and manage clinical risks, escalating complex situations appropriately and contributing to safe, effective case management.
· Drive continuous improvement by sharing clinical expertise, supporting quality initiatives and enhancing the traveller experience across the business.
What you’ll bring
· Current AHPRA nursing registration with extensive clinical experience across acute care settings such as Emergency, ICU, Cardiac raspatory and orthopaedic and general surgery, Aviation, Remote or Telehealth environments.
· 5+ years' experience across acute or critical care environments.
