Research Analyst

TL;DR Kharon is seeking a full-time Research Analyst based in NYC or Washington D.C. This role requires in-office attendance 4 days a week. Monitoring new sanctions, enforcement actions, and policy activity by regulatory agencies for developments relevant to Kharon’s products. Driving the curation, publication, maintenance, and quality assurance of datasets. Performing data validation and reconciliation to support new products and partnership initiatives. Conducting research on issues in international affairs that impact business risks and identifying relevant data sources. Accurately perform detailed quality assurance of data and developing additional tooling to support these tasks as necessary Writes original code to assist in automating data analysis, cleanup, and enhancements. Must have a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Administration, International Relations, Political Science, Security Studies, Regional Studies, History, Sociology, or a related field. Must have at least 1-3 years of professional experience with sanctions, export controls, anti-money laundering or countering the financing of terrorism, and experience researching issues of international security and economy in high-risk jurisdictions. Experience with or willingness to learn SQL. Experience with data analysis, data visualization, and graph databases (Neo4J). Understanding of or willingness to learn web technologies (HTML, JavaScript, CSS, XPath, JSON, etc).
