Inc42 Media is on the hunt for the Editor/Rewriter, who can bring value, balance, creativity and innovation to one of India’s most consistent business newsrooms. We're looking for a seasoned storyteller with a knack for business writing, a flair for editorial leadership and a passion for the startup ecosystem as well as innovation in technology. In this role, you'll be one of the key figures in our news production process and will be looked upon for guidance and mentoring by the newsroom. What You'll Do Editing Long-Form And Feature Stories: Take the lead in shaping and editing stories that reporters file. You would be needed to guide the reporter throughout the filing process from idea to final draft Editing Long-Form And Feature Stories: Besides this, you will have to step in to rewrite if the reporter has left some gaps in the original draft or add more value to an existing copy based on your network, sources and broader context of the industry that may have been missed Editorial Planning: Collaborate with senior editors to craft daily, weekly, and monthly rosters for the news team. Trendspotting: Monitor feeds and identify trends to shape the day's editorial news agenda. Quality Control: Edit, validate, and fact-check stories to ensure they meet our rigorous standards. Team Development: Train your team to break exclusive stories, dive deep into subjects, and conduct insightful interviews. Innovation: Brainstorm new story formats, series, and themes to keep our content fresh and engaging.…
