About the team and what we do You’ll lead the Screening Triage Team, which comprises of a Senior Triage Officer and Triage Officers. The team are responsible for the case management of fitness to practise referrals received via the Triage case management system.
You’ll work collaboratively with your fellow Triage Manager to take collective responsibility for the performance of the Triage Team. You’ll oversee core aspects, such as case progression, reporting on and managing risk, compliance with timeliness measures, engagement with key internal and external stakeholders and adherence to quality standards.
You’ll play a leading role in supporting the expansion of the Triage process and testing of IT functionality, and you’ll develop and embed processes to enable your team to work efficiently.
About the team and what we do
The first stage in the fitness to practise process is called Screening. This is where we look at the concern someone’s raised with us in more detail and decide on the next steps. The Triage team are part of the NMC’s Screening department. The team currently considers new enquiries received via our online referral form and assess whether the enquiry raises a fitness to practise concern. The Triage team are using a new fitness to practise case management system, which in due course will replace the existing system used by the NMC’s other established fitness to practise teams. The team is at the forefront of our new ways of working and supporting our principal objective of reducing our fitness to practise caseload. About the role You’ll report to a Senior Screening Manager and provide direct line management to a team of Triage Officers and one Senior Triage Officer. Working alongside your fellow Triage Manager, you’ll have oversight of all enquiries managed under the Triage process. You’ll provide leadership and support to your team and the wider Triage function, enabling them to deliver excellent customer service and achieve success against key performance indicators. You’ll play an important role in making and facilitating Triage decisions, driving and implementing process improvements and maximising efficiencies. You’ll also help to create and build effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. You’ll foster an inclusive working environment that supports the individuals in your team to succeed in their current roles, develop new skills and progress their careers at the NMC. About you
