You will monitor surveillance systems, observe activity, identify unusual or suspicious behaviour, and respond or report appropriately when required. You may work in a variety of environments, including security operation centres, call centres, construction sites, parking lots, gatehouses, and other client locations . Respond promptly and professionally to incidents, emergencies, and potential security risks. Maintain detailed and accurate incident reports , daily activity logs, and documentation of all significant observations. Conduct regular foot patrols to maintain a visible security presence and help ensure the safety and security of the premises. Control access to secure areas by verifying visitor identification, credentials, and authorization. Identify and report unusual, unsafe, or suspicious situations , taking appropriate action in accordance with site procedures. Monitor security systems for vulnerabilities, malfunctions, or irregularities and report concerns promptly. Work collaboratively with law enforcement and emergency services when serious incidents or emergencies occur. Maintain a professional, alert, and customer-focused presence while interacting with employees, visitors, contractors, and site personnel. Qualifications for Surveillance Security Guard Be legally authorized to work in Canada. Able to get a Security Guard Licence . Hold a valid First Aid Certificate . Have strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to complete clear and detailed security reports.
