Job Purpose
Under the direction of the Director of Safety & Security, the Security Specialist is responsible for patrolling the Denver Center for the Performing Arts complex, screening building visitors, observing and reporting incidents, and maintaining the safety and security of all DCPA property, employees, visitors, and patrons.
The Security Specialist is expected to provide onsite support during performances and events. This position provides guidance while resolving security issues, maintains all security equipment to ensure proper working conditions, including cameras, points of entry, perform weapons screening, access control systems, and operates assigned posts to protect facility assets while supporting the successful production of events.
The operational scope includes multiple sites: two office buildings; one multi-use live theatre complex comprised of four theatre spaces; a warehouse; one ballroom/events center; and 42 residential condominium units. The hours for this position fluctuate depending on facility activity and event schedules; therefore, the ability to work flexible hours is required.
Primary Responsibilities
Patrol buildings and grounds and report incidents to the Director of Safety & Security, a team leader, or other appropriate personnel.
Perform entry screening, safety enforcement, and crowd management. Operate weapons screening equipment, conduct bag checks, and maintain entry flow as needed.
