POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Grant Accountant will handle all accounting operations within the company, verify financial records and transactions, and monitor the accounting records. This position will represent ABH® and its services in a positive and professional manner and adhere to ABH®’s best practices, guidelines, policies and procedures as established, promoting ABH® as a leader in behavioral healthcare in all interactions and work.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare monthly and quarterly grant reporting to various funders;
Establish and maintain grant budgets, financial tracking systems and internal controls;
Prepare monthly deferred revenue and cost settlement reconciliation analysis;
Prepare consolidated financial statements and analysis;
Assist in writing and maintain financial statement reports;
Intercompany transactions and reconciliations;
Analyze grant spending relative to the approved budget;
Analyze allocations, program costs, and prepare adjustments;
Variance analysis budget to actual;
Prepare and post monthly journal and allocation entries;
Maintain accounting records;
Maintain company accounting procedures and processes;
Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements;
Record financial information for analysis;
Assist the Controller and CFO in preparing documents and interpreting financial information;
Advice on procedure and financial management;
Develop procedures to improve efficiency;
Participate in the preparation of the annual budget and assist in tracking expenditures in order to operate within approved budget guidelines;
Assist with audits and taxes;
Assist with account balances and bank statements;
Manage general ledger and assist month-end/year-end close processes;
Ensure compliance with all internal processes, policies and procedures;
Support Controller and CFO with special projects and workflow process improvements;
Other duties as assigned;
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Master’s degree a plus;
3+ years Non Profit Accounting experience
3+ years Grant reporting experience
5+ years previous experience as an accountant;
Business Central and CORE experience a plus
Attends annual Conflict of Interest training.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Keen attention to detail and maintain account balances, financial statements, general ledger and all reports;
Must be able to multi task and have advanced technical skills;
Excellent PC skills with demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Package (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Outlook) advanced Excel skills; internet;
Proficiency with accounting software and experience with a software system implementation a plus;
Initiative to work hard and improve processes;
Experience with report writer software and database a plus;
