The Opto Semiconductors business within ams OSRAM offers high-performance opto semiconductor components and in-depth support for state-of-the-art system solutions based on innovative semiconductor optical sources. The Business Unit can look back on almost fifty years of production and development expertise. As part of a global Team, Application Engineering Team is responsible for designing our components in to leading solutions within the illumination, visualization, and sensing applications. This position is within the Illumination team. Application Engineers are also responsible for acting as the technical liaison between our customers and R&D/PD team to stay on top new technologies to maintain our global leadership within the industry. Your new responsibilities: Create a deep technical system understanding by investigating into all relevant system approaches to figure out benefits and drawbacks of the different system solutions Provide support in all aspects, electrical, thermal, and optical, of a complete system to our customers and other internal customer facing teams Provide application support to ams OSRAM's existing customers and cultivate new relationships with potential new customers and partners by developing design proposals, hardware mock-ups, and any technical material.
