About the Role
The Senior Financial Analyst (Fixed Term Contract) will be a front-line member of the financial reporting team and will be responsible for a wide range of financial reporting matters focused on the accurate and effective communication of the entity’s financial and operating results to its key stakeholders and for providing valuable financial insights and decision support analysis to the business.
What You’ll Be Doing
Accountable for the timely, complete and accurate preparation of the company’s quarterly reviewed and annually audited consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS, as well as the preparation of the company’s Management Discussion and Analysis
Responsible for the preparation of the company’s quarterly compliance reporting and covenant calculations in accordance with the company’s external agreements
Assist with preparation of key reports presented quarterly to the company’s Audit Committee and Board of Directors
Research and analyze complex, non-routine accounting issues and key agreements (customer contracts, partnership agreements, debt and hedging arrangements, leases, etc.) to determine IFRS compliant resolutions, make recommendations, and draft memos to support policy decisions
Prepare and maintain complex accounting models related to debt accounting, deferred revenue, contingent consideration, leases, other post-employment benefits, etc. to prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations
Provide assistance to the Company’s external auditors during the completion of quarterly reviews and annual audits
Prepare the quarterly/annual tax provisions, and liase with the company’s external tax advisors to ensure that tax returns are accurately completed and filed on time, and to assist with all other tax matters as they arise
Assist the Treasury team in preparing quarterly and annual cash flow forecasts to ensure cash liquidity and to accurately estimate distributions to the company’s parent
Provide budget/forecast support to the company’s Financial Planning and Analysis team (and other business units) with respect to non-operational expenses
Determine and implement financial reporting impacts for ongoing mergers and acquisitions
Prepare ad-hoc financial analysis, reports and special projects as assigned
