Zimbabwe Platinum Mines (Pvt) Limited (ZIMPLATS) is the largest producer of platinum group metals in Zimbabwe It owns and operates the Ngezi Underground Mines, the Ngezi Concentrator Plant, and the Selous Metallurgical Complex (SMC), delivering long-term value through responsible mining and sound financial stewardship. POSITION DESCRIPTION This position will be part of the dynamic team based at Ngezi Concentrator reporting to the Shift Superintendents. REFERENCE NUMBER – NGC202607001 DATE OF DISTRIBUTION – 15 July 2026 CLOSING DATE – 21 July 2026 DEPARTMENT AND LOCATION – Ngezi Concentrator JOB TITLE – Senior Plant Operator JOB GRADING – C3 QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: 5 O' levels including Mathematics, English and Science Diploma in Mineral Processing/Extractive Metallurgy or NEC Certificate for Plant Operators Minimum 3 years' experience as a Junior Plant Operator in a Smelter or Concentrator Knowledge of the Business Management System (BMS) CORE COMPETENCIES: A self-starter with excellent interpersonal, planning and problem-solving skills Supervisory experience is a must DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Enforcing safety, health and environmental standards Supervising section of the plant Implementing plant operating strategies to improve performance and meet business plan objectives Notifying the Shift Superintendent of equipment and plant malfunctions or breakdowns Assisting in the coordination of planned and unplanned shutdowns to ensure sustainable plant operation Ensuring availability and enforcement of operating procedures for all critical tasks to ensure a safe, efficient and cost-effective operation Leading and maintaining discipline in the plant Training subordinates Ensuring good housekeeping in the plant.
