Overview
The Senior Production Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of production operations within Firecracker Works Inc. across multiple projects, ensuring they are manufactured and prepared for installation safely, efficiently and to the exceptional quality standards our clients expect.
Working closely with the CEO, Managing Director, Technical Design and Construction teams, the Senior Production Manager converts the creative ideas of our clients into successful project delivery. They oversee budget creation, coordinate internal and third party resources, manage production teams and proactively resolve operational challenges to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
This role combines strong leadership with hands-on operational management and is central to maintaining Firecracker Works' reputation for quality, reliability and craftsmanship.
Project Management & Coordination
Manage multiple scenic construction projects simultaneously from initial enquiry through to final delivery
Conduct thorough site surveys to assess project feasibility, access requirements, and installation conditions
Create comprehensive project timelines and coordinate resources across all project phases
Liaise between clients, designers, technical drafting team, workshop staff, and external stakeholders to ensure efficient project delivery
Commercial & Procurement Prepare accurate and competitive quotations for scenic construction projects
Source and engage third-party suppliers, subcontractors, and specialist fabricators
Negotiate pricing and manage supplier relationships
Monitor project budgets and flag any cost implications throughout the project lifecycle
Technical Documentation Produce detailed load lists for transport and logistics planning
Create item lists and material schedules for workshop production
Prepare Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for construction, installation, and strike activities
Coordinate with structural engineers on load calculations, structural integrity, and certification requirements
Review and interpret technical drawings to ensure build ability and compliance
Workshop & Production Liaison
Brief workshop teams on project specifications, quality standards, and deadlines
Monitor production progress and troubleshoot any technical or practical challenges
Ensure Health & Safety standards are maintained throughout the build process
Conduct quality control checks before dispatch
Essential Skills & Experience
Demonstrable ability to create, develop and maintain client relationships with concise and transparent communication through all phases of a project, from discussing the original brief through to project reconciliation post-delivery
Proven experience in production management within scenic construction, exhibition, events, or theatre sectors
Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated experience in project costing and quotations
