Job Summary
Role Summary
The Senior Software Engineer I is a hands-on project contributor who owns the design and delivery of significant features and small-to-medium projects. The role translates business needs into reliable, secure and maintainable solutions, makes sound technical decisions under ambiguity, and helps raise the team's engineering and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lead features or small-to-medium projects from requirements and design through implementation, release and production support.
Break down ambiguous requirements, evaluate technical trade-offs, and communicate assumptions, risks and recommendations clearly.
Design, develop and review clean, secure, tested and maintainable software that meets First American engineering standards.
Embed reliability, performance, security, observability, error handling and recovery considerations into solutions.
Partner with product, quality, architecture, platform and other engineering teams to resolve dependencies and delivery blockers.
Mentor engineers through code reviews, debugging, design discussions and knowledge sharing.
Participate in on-call support, incident response and root-cause analysis, ensuring learnings result in durable improvements.
Use AI-assisted development tools for design, coding, testing, documentation, debugging and analysis while rigorously validating outputs.
