Ready to shape the future of resilient communities? We are seeking a Senior Substation Engineer to design new power substations and upgrade existing facilities from 12kV to 500kV. You will be responsible for utilizing accepted practices and standards to ensure that all designs meet the highest level of quality and safety. This is an on-site supervisory role with direct reports, including engineers and designers. You must be local to our Grand Rapids, MI, or Fort Worth, TX office. What You'll Do: Develop project plans, including project scope of work and WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) for complex multi-discipline substation Engineering projects and EPC projects Manage Substation project execution, including project scope, schedule, budget, and project resources, including external vendors, consultants, and contractors Effectively track and stabilize projects, implement solutions to obstacles, and ensure client goals are achieved Communication and Systems Studies Engineer focus Attend client meetings and communicate concerns and changes with the client to ensure a positive relationship and growth opportunities Prepare and review preliminary designs  Prepare proposals, including budgetary estimates Lead the development of plans, specifications, studies, estimates, material lists, and other deliverables Ensure team adherence to QA/QC program Develop new or modify existing: Electrical layout/plan of substation equipment and structures Substation foundation layout/plan drawings Section/elevation views from layout/plan drawings Conduit layout/plan drawings Substation grounding layout/plan drawings Control building layout/plan and section/elevation drawings Lead, mentor, and help grow a team of engineers and designers: Manage day-to-day activities for your team Set goals and expectations for each team member Assist in annual performance reviews …
