Job Title: Software and Database Developer IV Location: Remote/Hybrid - DHS CISA and authorized contractor facilities — 4200 Wilson Boulevard, Arlington, VA 22203 and 4601 N. Fairfax Drive, Arlington, VA 22203. Telework only with Government approval. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday. Security Requirements: Tier 4 background investigation required; must obtain and maintain a favorable DHS/CISA IRME suitability/fitness determination/public trust and required facility and system access. Work Authorization: U.S. citizenship required for DHS IT system access. Must be authorized to work in the United States. AttainX is seeking a Software and Database Developer IV to support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), Infrastructure and Risk Modeling Environment (IRME). This senior role provides software and database expertise for system assessment, requirements definition, and modernization planning. The developer evaluates existing code, integrations, data flows, and technical constraints and helps translate mission needs into feasible software capabilities. Qualifications and Education Requirements: A bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related field is preferred; equivalent education, training, and relevant experience will be considered. A minimum of 7+ years of experience in database administration, including database maintenance, performance optimization, backup and recovery, security, and data governance. Senior-level experience independently delivering complex software and database solutions. Experience with front-end, back-end, database, and hosting tools and relevant languages such as Python, JavaScript, Java, C#, or SQL. Experience developing secure APIs, microservices, cloud applications, and enterprise integrations. Experience with data processing, ETL, relational or other repositories, and query or application performance optimization. Experience with version control, code review, automated pipelines, and unit, integration, and regression testing. Knowledge of secure coding, access controls, vulnerability remediation, and controlled releases. Federal applications, risk modeling, geospatial processing, and approved AI/ML integration experience are preferred. A database administration certification relevant to the supported environment, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or Oracle Database Administration Certified Professional, is highly preferred. Must be a US Citizen able to obtain and maintain a DHS CISA IRME Public Trust clearance. Job Duties: Inventory existing software, cloud components, databases, APIs, data flows, and integrations with the project and architecture teams.
