Its software and data platforms empower customers to model subsurface assets, manage drilling risk, and accelerate decision-making through cloud, AI, and advanced analytics.  About the Role The Core Java Software Developer will design, develop, test, and maintain desktop software used in subsurface and geoscience engineering workflows. Working on Jupiter Subsurface applications, the developer will translate product requirements and architectural direction into secure, reliable, and maintainable Java application capabilities. This role is suited to a software developer who combines Core Java or desktop application development experience with an interest in scientific and engineering software. Depending on experience and level, the developer may contribute to application design, implementation, automated testing, troubleshooting, code quality, and the continued development of complex technical applications. Key Responsibilities Develop and enhance Core Java desktop application capabilities for Jupiter Subsurface engineering and geoscience workflows. Translate product requirements and software architecture into maintainable, testable, and secure Java implementations. Design, code, test, debug, and document desktop application components within an established software architecture. Investigate software defects, identify root causes, and implement appropriately scoped corrections. Apply object-oriented design principles and structured problem-solving techniques to scientific and engineering software challenges. Create and maintain unit, integration, automated regression, or other appropriate software tests. Follow secure coding standards and participate in the identification, triage, and remediation of application-security findings. Participate in code reviews and incorporate technical feedback to improve software quality, maintainability, and development practices. Collaborate with Product Management, Software Architects, developers, and quality stakeholders to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria. Maintain technical documentation covering assigned components, implementation decisions, testing, and issue resolution. Build knowledge of subsurface workflows, geoscience applications, and the technical needs of engineering-software users.
