Software Development Engineer( Backend) - Intern

What you'll do Design and build backend services and REST APIs using Node.js Write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries and database schemas Own features from design through deployment, including monitoring in production Deploy and manage services on AWS Collaborate with frontend engineers to define clean API contracts Write unit and integration tests, and participate actively in code reviews Debug and resolve production issues as part of an on-call rotation What we're looking for 1–2 years of professional coding experience Strong fundamentals in data structures and object-oriented programming Proficiency in Node.js/JavaScript or TypeScript, Python or Java/Kotlin Solid SQL skills — comfortable writing joins, aggregations, and reasoning about schema design Working knowledge of AWS fundamentals (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS) Demonstrated coding ability through past projects, internships, or coursework Understanding of REST API design principles Ability to write clean, testable, maintainable code and take feedback well in code review Nice to have Experience with containerization (Docker) and CI/CD pipelines Exposure to microservices or event-driven architecture Familiarity with React or another frontend framework Experience with NoSQL databases alongside SQL
