Software Engineer II/III (Java)

*This position requires an active Top Secret/SCI w/ Fullscope Polygraph clearance to be considered.* ProSync is seeking an experienced Java developer to join a small, mission‑focused engineering team responsible for building and sustaining operational software in secure environments. The ideal candidate brings strong Java development skills, experience with modern tooling such as Git, Gradle, Guice, Docker, and REST, and a willingness to support both backend and limited‑scope UI development. Experience with the ELK stack, MongoDB, Ansible, and Kubernetes is strongly desired. This role requires strong Linux proficiency and the ability to work in customer spaces or an offsite SCIF while supporting mission‑critical software delivery. Responsibilities: Java Application Development — Design, develop, test, and maintain mission‑focused Java applications using modern frameworks and tooling. Dependency Injection & Build Tools — Utilize Guice for dependency injection and Gradle for build automation across the application lifecycle. RESTful Service Development — Build and maintain REST‑based services and integrations supporting mission workflows. Containerized Development — Develop and troubleshoot containerized application components using Docker. Logging & Analytics Integration — Integrate and support ELK stack components for logging, monitoring, and operational visibility. Database Development — Work with MongoDB and other data stores to support backend functionality and mission data flows. Automation & Configuration — Support automation and configuration management tasks using Ansible. Kubernetes Support — Assist with Kubernetes‑based deployments and troubleshooting as part of modernization efforts. UI Development — Support limited‑scope front‑end development tasks using Angular and Typescript when needed. Linux‑Based Operations — Use strong Linux skills to support development, troubleshooting, and operational workflows. Secure Environment Support — Work in customer spaces or offsite SCIFs to support mission operations and software sustainment.
