Software Engineer Team Leader

A well-established international technology company is expanding its Engineering organization in Bucharest and is looking for a Software Engineer Team Leader to lead a team responsible for critical internal platform services. The company operates at significant international scale, with distributed engineering teams across multiple regions. Its technology platform supports complex, high-volume digital transactions and requires a strong focus on security, scalability, reliability, and operational excellence . As a Software Engineer Team Leader, you will play a key role in driving the design, quality, and delivery of the systems owned by your team. You will combine hands-on technical leadership with people management, architectural decision-making, and cross-team collaboration. Responsibilities • Own the design, architecture, and delivery of core services and tools your team builds, from technical decisions through production rollout. • Lead the team in building secure, scalable systems, including authentication, authorization, permissions, and other shared platform capabilities. • Set the technical bar for code quality, testing, observability, and delivery practices. • Partner with other engineering teams to align on architecture and integration points. • Mentor and develop engineers, enabling them to take increasing ownership and responsibility. • Own systems end-to-end, including operational health, monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident response. • Lead and contribute to cross-company technical initiatives. You Are • A proven engineering leader who is comfortable making strategic technical decisions. • Team-oriented and committed to creating an environment where engineers can develop and succeed. • Comfortable solving complex technical problems in distributed systems. • A strong verbal and written communicator who can work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. You Have • Experience with .NET Core and modern software development practices. • Experience with agentic coding tools and AI-assisted development workflows . • Strong experience with microservices architectures and Event-Driven Development (EDD) . • Expertise in CI/CD pipelines and modern delivery practices. • Understanding of cloud architectures , particularly AWS. • Experience with high-scale systems involving authentication, authorization, secrets management, permission models, and secure service-to-service communication . • Experience leading cross-company engineering projects .
